The first distinctive Greek pottery style appeared around 1000 BCE or perhaps even earlier. Since then Greece has continued to have a rich history with the art of ceramic. Lavatoy, the artist, was inspired by ancient Greek pottery history, but he intertwines it with a modern and earthy approach. He is one of Greece’s most up-and-coming ceramic artists, and you will find his work in a permanent exhibition of the Cycladic Museum of Art, Athens, as well as high-end luxury hotels in Santorini, Mykonos, and more.
